DECLARATION OF ETHICS AND GOOD PRACTICE OF PUBLICATION

The Revista Amazonia Investiga committed to complying with high standards of ethical behavior and taking all possible measures against any professional negligence that is carried out in all stages of the publication process of the journal. It complies with the guidelines and best practices established by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE), which is an organization that provides advice and resources on all aspects of the ethics of publications and research and conduct and undue publication.

The following describes each of the aspects related to the declaration of ethics and good practices of the Revista Amazonia Investiga:

Follow up of bad behavior. The Editor is committed to maintaining high ethical standards and taking all possible measures against any professional negligence that occurs in its publication. Plagiarism is strictly prohibited. The authors when sending a document declare that they are original and unpublished, and in addition, that these have not been submitted to consideration of other journals or that they have not been copied or plagiarized, totally or partially from other publications, for which they must send the signed originality letter [Download].

The articles sent by the authors are preliminarily reviewed by the editor of the publication, in light of the editorial policy of the journal and the requirements established in the guidelines for the authors. If any article does not satisfy this first revision, it will be returned to the authors for adjustment and subsequent submission.

The plagiarism detection process of the Journal will be as follows:

1) All articles will be verified with anti-plagiarism software through the Turnitin software.

2) If the document presents a high percentage of similarity: The author of the plagiarized article will be notified, documentary evidence will be sent to him (software report) and he will be asked for a response.

3) If the document contains plagiarism, the editorial process will not be completed.

Authorship and contribution. Authorship belongs to those individuals who contributed significantly to the training, design, execution, or understanding of the article. All individuals who contributed significantly to the article should be mentioned as co-authors. Other people who contributed to other substantive parts of the investigation should be recognized or listed as contributors. The main author has the responsibility to include all co-authors and collaborators in the paper and ensure that all co-authors have reviewed and approved the final version of the document for publication.

When the authorship of an article is shared, it must be formally declared that: a) All the authors have contributed intellectually in the elaboration of this one; b) They agree with the content of the manuscript; and c) The work has not been previously published in any other journal or format.

The authors must guarantee that the data presented in the article are reliable and that they have not been altered to verify or respond to the hypotheses or assumptions made. In the Revista Amazonia Investiga, in order to comply with the transparency in the research and ensure the association of their works with their authorship, we may request the authors to identify the research project.

Complaints and appeals. The Editor will respond as soon as possible to any complaint generated in the editorial process. The communication will be made by email amazoniainvestiga@gmail.com in confidential form. If the situation cannot be resolved, it will be attended by the full Editorial Committee.

Conflicts of intereses. Authors who submit a manuscript to the Revista Amazonia Investiga, editors and reviewers of journal publications, must declare in writing the existence of any relationship between the authors of the article and any public or private entity from which it could be derived or any possible conflict of interests that may interfere with the objectivity or integrity of a publication.

Conflicts of interest are situations that could be perceived as exerting undue influence on the presentation, review and publication of a work. These may be of a financial, non-financial, professional, labor, contractual or personal nature. We hope that anyone who suspects an undisclosed conflict of interest with respect to a work published or in consideration by the Revista Amazonia Investiga, should inform the editor or email amazoniainvestiga@gmail.com.

Data analysis. The Revista Amazonia Investiga supports transparency and openness around data, codes and other materials associated with research. Authors must maintain accurate records of support to allow others to understand, verify and replicate new findings. In addition, authors must provide access to this data and store it in an appropriate storage repository for others to share and use.

Ethical supervision and privacy statement. The names and email addresses entered on the site of the Revista Amazonia Investiga will be used exclusively for the stated purposes of this journal and will not be available for any other purpose or for any other part. For this reason the authors' emails will not publish in the articles. The articles will contain ORCID code information and institutional affiliation. The journal's editorial team collects such information only to the extent necessary or appropriate to fulfill the purpose of the visitor's interaction with the journal. Includes information that makes communication possible for the editorial process; which is used to inform readers about the authorship and editing of the content and allows to collect aggregate data on the behavior of readers.

The data that will help in the development of this publication platform can be shared with its developer Public Knowledge Project in an anonymous and aggregated form, with the corresponding exceptions, such as article metrics. The data will not be sold by this journal or PKP nor will it be used for purposes other than those indicated here.

The authors published in this journal are responsible for the data of human subjects that appear in the research reported here. 

Intellectual property. The documents sent by the authors will be understood as original, unpublished. It will also be understood that they are not currently under consideration for publication elsewhere. Therefore, with the submission of the article, the author expressly states that: a) The article sent has not been published nor is it in the process of being evaluated for publication in another journal; b) That the publication of a previous version as a working paper (or "gray literature") or on a website has not been reported; c) All authors know and agree with its content; and d) The author transfers the publication rights to the journal.

The Revista Amazonia Investiga is open and open access. The content of the articles published in the Journal is the exclusive responsibility of the authors, which is why they do not necessarily reflect the thinking of the Editorial Committee of the journal.

The authors who contribute to the Revista Amazonia Investiga agree to publish their articles under a Creative Commons CC-BY 4.0 license, allowing third parties to copy and redistribute the material in any medium or format, and remix, transform and develop the material, for any purpose, even commercially, under the condition that the appropriate credit is granted, that a link to the license be provided and that it indicate whether changes were made. You can do it in any reasonable way, but not in any way It may suggest that the licensor endorses you or your use.

Editorial process and evaluation. The Editor will protect the identity of the evaluators and establish what is expected of them; In addition, it will ensure that the evaluation process is confidential, fair, impartial and adjusted to the disposition of the evaluators.

The Revista Amazonia Investiga, being a scientific journal, performs the similarity verification through the Turnitin Similary Check software; It also submits the document to a rigorous evaluation process by external, national and international academic colleagues, experts in the subject, in a blind way. The review takes place between 4 and 7 weeks.

Once the favorable or unfavorable concept of the reviewer has been obtained the concept of the reviewer will be communicated to the authors who will have to attend the observations and suggestions for the publication of the article within the time indicated for it by the editorial team. After completing this process, the editor will determine if the article will be published or not published.

Post-publication discussions and corrections. Readers' discussions of publications will be accepted through letters to the editor. When the situation warrants it, the Editor will divulge the criticism of any work published in the journal, allowing the authors to express their arguments. This through letters from the authors addressed to the Editor.

The inclusion of new authors is not allowed when the article is already accepted for publication or published on the journal's website.

Retraction
To correct ethical problems in a scientific article, for example, related to the integrity of the data or errors in the research results, the Amazonia Investiga Magazine implements the retraction form. The request for retraction must be submitted by the authors with their reasons. Then, the process must be reviewed by the editor of the journal, who will issue a statement in the journal. The document will be replaced by a new one with the expression "[Article retracted]". The PDF of the article must have marks in the background with the expression “Article retracted”.
